The OIB Holiday Flotilla, was a holiday themed decorated boat parade held annually until 2025, on the Saturday after Thanksgiving to benefit Brunswick Family Assistance.
Sadly, after 20 years the committee behind it has had to call an end to this great community event releasing this statement:
“For over 20 years, the Flotilla relied on Support from the OIB family to donate funding to help our community. We extend our gratitude! After much thought and consideration, we have made the decision that the 2025 OIB Holiday Flotilla was the end to a great tradition.”. Please continue your support of Brunswick family assistance.”
Started in 2003, the OIB Flotilla has been a local tradition for so many for 22 years, and also served as a fundraiser for local charitable organizations. In 2025, the flotilla raised $52,291 for Brunswick Family Assistance (BFA).
Organizers have said that the event grew so big it had become essentially a full time job for the small committee, which worked each year from September to November to make it run smoothly doing things like gathering sponsors, designing, producing and selling t-shirts and other items and organizing the judges, prizes raffles and the post-flotilla party.
